What could be better than an evening of light and art, followed by a beautiful dinner? This autumn, Chichester Cathedral glows with colour as the Chichester Light Experience returns, and we would love to welcome you to our table either side of it.

The Cathedral does not allow food or drink during the Light Experience, so you will want somewhere warm and welcoming nearby. That is where we come in.

Illuminating Art at Chichester Cathedral

This year’s Chichester Light Experience is Illuminating Art, an immersive journey through four centuries of art. It is created by the acclaimed artistic collaboration Luxmuralis, artist Peter Walker and composer David Harper, and it is making its Sussex debut.

Huge projections and an original score transform the Cathedral’s ancient stone. You move through Baroque drama, Impressionist colour, early photography and the first days of animation, before a striking finale in the nave.

Your Complimentary Glass of Prosecco

Every Light Experience ticket holder can enjoy a complimentary glass of Prosecco with us. All you need to do is choose at least two courses from our à la carte menu.

It is one glass per person, so bring the whole party along. A cocktail of colours and tastes at the Cathedral, then a toast with friends at our table. C’est magique.

Dinner Before or After the Light Experience

Your ticket comes with a timed entry slot, so plan your dinner around it. There is no set running time for the show, as you explore at your own pace.

An early slot? Come to us afterwards and talk over your favourite scenes as the bubbles rise in your glass. A later slot? Dine with us first, then stroll over feeling warm, happy and ready for the show.

The Cathedral can feel cool in the evening and queuing happens outdoors. Our dining room is the perfect place to warm up, before or after.

Our à la carte menu is full of honest French brasserie cooking, made with care in our kitchen. Think golden, crisp edges, rich sauces that beg for a piece of bread and seasonal ingredients cooked simply and well.

Two courses is all it takes to claim your Prosecco. It doesn’t end here, though. Leave a little room for one of our Signature Soufflés, light as a cloud and rising proudly from its dish.
