You would be forgiven for thinking that all reputable restaurants take enormous care when choosing where to source their steak – after all, you are a guest & you would be justified in expecting the best. You would be surprised.
We like to think that our ‘chez nous’ philosophy runs through everything we do: ‘come over to ours’ for really good, fresher than fresh food, cooked with heart in our kitchens AND sourced with care and pride from the very best producers. This includes our steaks.
Our dry-aged beef is reared in clean, green Cornish pastures then dry aged to mature and intensify the flavour. Our supplier, Aubrey Allen, has full traceability on all beef from gate to plate and sets out the highest welfare and environment standards.
We take beef from suckler herds, cattle specifically bred for beef, able to run together, suckle as nature intended and allowed to mature slowly and naturally, ultimately giving a greater depth of flavour that you can really taste.
We have a selection of mouthwatering steaks on our à la carte menu, all sourced, cooked and served with the same care. And we even have a Steak Frites ‘Express’ on our set menu – a delicious free-range ‘Minute Steak’ as part of our two course set lunch or pre-theatre menu.
